#TrendAlert: When mixing pink and red is good idea

He de reconocer que yo soy de las que no se atrevían a mezclar rosa y rojo. Nunca, jamás. La verdad es que ni siquiera lo había probado, porque en mi subconsciente siempre ha estado la idea de que era una combinación pésima. Quizá porque se lo había oído a mi madre de pequeña, o lo había leído en alguna revista.

El caso es que las modas nos hacen cambiar de opinión, siempre. Los "no volveré a ponerme eso" y los "jamás combinaría esos colores/estampados" no sirven de nada. No todos se dejan llevar y son capaces de abrir su mente a nuevas propuestas pero, la verdad, yo no temo a la extravagancia jaja.

Por otro lado está la frase: "Las modas pasan". También es cierto, claro. Lo que era impensable ahora se lleva, y dentro de un año volverá a ser una aberración. Y más adelante, volverá a llevarse; es cíclico. Pero al final, las tendencias surgen por una idea o necesidad de llamar la atención y distinguirse entre la multitud. ¿Qué sentido tendría si duraran para siempre? ;)

Así que, al menos mientras dure la tendencia, yo me apunto a mezclar rosa y rojo. ¿Qué pensáis vosotras? ¿Os gusta o seguís viéndolo raro aún?

I have to recognise that I was the kind of girl that never mixed pink and red. Never, ever. The truth is I never even tried it, because the idea that it was a terrible combination had always lived in my subconscious. Maybe because I heard it from my mum, or maybe because I read it on a magazine.

The thing is that fashion trends make us changing our minds, always. Sometimes we say things like "I will never wear that again" or "I would never mix these colors/prints", but then we do it anyway. Of course, not everyone is able to open the mind and try new things, but I am not afraid of extravagance.

In the other hand, we know that "all the trends pass away". It's true, for sure. What you said you would never wear is now a trend, but in a year, it will be a horrible thing again. And, in the future, it will be a trend again, it's ciclical. The think is, trends start because we need to catch the attention, and be different from the rest. To expect that they last forever wouldn't make any sense.

So, while it is still a trend, I am woing to mix pink and red. What do you think about it? Do you like it or do you still think it looks weird?
